Pet Puppy Policy and Purchase Agreement
**This is a Spay/Neuter contract**
Policy
Eli’s English Bulldogs (“breeder”) guarantees that the puppy sold is pure breed and in good physical health on the day of purchase. All necessary shots, de-worming, and vet check have been done. Complete health records will be provided to the buyer.
Spay/Neuter Requirements:
1) This is a pet only spay/neuter contract.
2) Puppies are AKC registerable with limited registration.
3) Proof of Spay/Neuter must be provided by buyer to Eli’s English Bulldogs by 8 months of age.
Required Initial Health Exam:
1) The buyer agrees to take this puppy to a licensed veterinarian of their choice within 72 hours of purchase for a health examination.
2) Eli’s English Bulldogs must be informed immediately of the results of this examination; proof of the examination must be provided to Eli’s English Bulldogs within 72 hours of the examination (by fax, email or mailed copy).
3) Should the puppy be determined at the initial examination to be unfit due to illness, disease or congenital disorder, the cause of which is clearly attributable to a condition existing at or before the time of purchase, the puppy may be returned by buyer (with AKC papers and current health records) upon presentation of a written diagnosis from buyer’s veterinarian and after confirmation of such diagnosis by a second veterinarian of breeder’s choice to be made within 72 hours of breeder’s receipt of the first written diagnosis. After such confirmation, the breeder has the sole option to: a) treat and return the puppy to the buyer in well condition at breeder’s expense; b) return money to the buyer; or c) replace the puppy for another puppy of equal value at breeder’s first opportunity.
Health Guarantee:
Eli’s English Bulldogs offers a replacement guarantee on our puppies for 6 months from date of birth. If the puppy develops a congenital or hereditary life threatening disorder within that time period, we will replace the puppy with another puppy of same sex, breed and equal value, at our first opportunity, provided the conditions below are met and kept by the buyer:
- Buyer notifies the breeder immediately of any illness, disease or defect.
- Buyer provides routine veterinary care of the puppy, including proper vaccinations, routine worm checks, and heart worm treatments. Records of such care are to be provided to Eli’s English Bulldogs if buyer seeks to return puppy for replacement.
- Buyer understands contract will be void if buyer fails to provide routine veterinary care, or if puppy is sold, transferred or injured by accident or neglect.
- Eli’s English Bulldogs will not be responsible for veterinarian fees or costs. Buyer is aware that owning a puppy means regular trips to the veterinarian and understands that he/she will be responsible for all payments.
- This guarantee does not cover any common puppy/dog ailments such as: worms, disorders brought on by parasites, fungal or bacterial infections or diseases, vitamin deficiencies, respiratory infections, hernias, injuries, fleas, mites, coccidian, giaridia, parvo, distemper, kennel cough or corona virus.
- This guarantee does not cover common traits in a Bulldog such as: Cherry eye, Entropion, “loose” hips”, slight hemi-vertebra, skin allergies, elongated soft palate, cleft palate, steno tic nares (collapsed nostrils), small tracheas, hare lip, inverted tails, etc.
- There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors, for example: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this guarantee.
- If puppy dies a replacement will be offered providing the buyer has a veterinarian’s autopsy report which indicates that a congenital defect was the cause of death.
- This contract is valid only for the original buyer and puppy, and is not transferable.
- The breeder will not be responsible for any illness or any health problems diagnosed after the 6 month health guarantee time period.
Future care agreement:
1) Breeder recommends that the Buyer have the dog examined by a veterinarian annually. If a disease is diagnosed, the breeder must be notified immediately.
2) Breeder recommends that the Buyer have their dog micro chipped for safety and identification.
3) Buyer agrees to attend appropriate training/educational classes.
4) Buyer agrees to ensure good health by providing proper medical care, feeding, grooming, training, safe clean housing and environment.
5) Buyer agrees to provide appropriate socialization and obedience.
Re-homing:
1) Buyer will not sell or re-home the dog/puppy without prior consent from breeder.
2) If buyer cannot keep the dog/puppy for any reason, they must contact the breeder to assist in finding a good home or may return said dog/puppy to breeder. No monies will be refunded by breeder.
Other:
1) Breeder is not responsible for temperament issues.
2) Breeder cannot guarantee the projected size or color.
3) Buyer understands that bulldogs are special and that special consideration must be given if buying one of these breeds.
4) There is no guarantee or warranty that the Buyers will be able to show or breed the puppy regardless of show or breeding potentials.
5) The parentage/pedigree is correct to the best of Seller’s Knowledge. The Buyer agrees not to hold Seller responsible in any manner in the unlikely event that a problem might arise from the puppies’ parentage/pedigree.
I, the buyer, have read this contract, understand fully the contents thereof and acknowledge receipt of it. We are not relying on verbal statements not contained herein.
I, the buyer, have done my due diligence to research the English bulldog breed and understand all common traits and special health conditions.
We accept a $400.00 non-refundable deposit that will hold the puppy you pick until ready for home placement. The remaining balance is due when the puppy is picked up.
